Intermoda 84 Elevates the Experience for Brands

Buyers, and Creatives in Its Upcoming Edition

Intermoda, one of Latin America’s most influential fashion business platforms, announced the details of its 84th edition, taking place January 20–23, 2026 at Expo Guadalajara, Mexico. With more than 40,000 m² of exhibition space, approximately 1,500 stands, and exhibitors from 11 countries, the event reinforces its position as a key meeting point for the global fashion industry.

The press conference, held on January 7, brought together leaders from the public and private sectors, including Jorge Castellanos, President of Intermoda; Laura Romero Zueck, from Jalisco’s Directorate of Foreign Trade; Gustavo Staufert Buclón, Director of the Guadalajara Convention & Visitors Bureau; Julián de la Torre del Río, Vice President of CANAIVE Guadalajara; Adilene Navarro, Coordinator of the Corredor Económico del Bienestar; Diego Alonso Pérez, representing Mako & Co and Emarola; and Ernesto Hernández, General Director of Intermoda.

A Strategic Edition Focused on an Enhanced Participant Experience

During the announcement, Ernesto Hernández emphasized that this edition aims to elevate the overall experience for buyers, exhibitors, and industry professionals. Beyond its extensive commercial offering—distributed across 12 specialized pavilions—Intermoda 84 will feature a robust program of activities, curated networking spaces, and strategic business encounters designed to strengthen commercial opportunities.

Hernández also highlighted the importance of strategic alliances that support emerging brands and independent designers. This focus is especially visible on the second floor, home to Trending and IM Impulsa, two platforms dedicated to showcasing new creative voices and design-driven projects.

Runway Activations and Creative Showcases

The Experience Stage will host a series of runway activations featuring brands from the Trending pavilion, including Dulce Arías, Lorena Aguirre, and Once Mares, as well as designers who have contributed to the consolidation of this space in previous editions, such as Paulina Luna and Jacobo Sin A. These presentations are designed for buyers and industry professionals, offering a dynamic and intimate format that enhances visibility for emerging talent.

Meanwhile, Fashion Space will once again serve as the main stage for exclusive collection debuts, integrating aesthetic, sensory, and technological elements that allow buyers to experience trends translated into real, market-ready garments.

Growth, Editorial Alliances, and International Projection

Intermoda President Jorge Castellanos noted that the previous edition achieved record participation, welcoming 26,000 buyers, a milestone that underscores the event’s growing influence at both national and international levels.

This year, Intermoda also announced a strategic alliance with ELLE México, one of the country’s most prominent fashion media platforms. The collaboration aims to amplify the visibility of the Trending pavilion, strengthening the presence of independent designers and creative brands from Mexico and Latin America.

A Firm Commitment to Sustainability

Intermoda reaffirmed its commitment to sustainability through initiatives aimed at reducing the environmental impact of the event. Since its 82nd edition, the fair has implemented a reduction in stand height to optimize material use and lower its carbon footprint.

Additional measures include the installation of water dispensers to reduce single-use plastics and the use of eco-friendly materials for badges, recognitions, and consumables. The event also integrates social-impact initiatives through Ethical Fashion Space and collaborations with local organizations such as Banco de Tapitas.
