Fashion in Melbourne.

One thing Melbourne folk love most is fashion. Black or white (preferably black), they look forward to dressing for the four seasons that sometimes happen all in one day. Fashion, especially when mixed with creative local talent, really resonates with the people of Melbourne.

These female designers: SISTER, Caves Collect and Lois Hazel all have something in common. Their clothing shows quality of craftsmanship, dedication and, on top of that, they're all strong, creative women.

SISTER was started by two female designers, Emma and Alice, who manufacture their items in Brunswick, Melbourne. This pair draws inspiration from the intelligent and creative sisters they meet in their lives. Celebrating everyday classics with a quirky twist is something that stands out for them. For example, their Classic Apron Dress mixes together the look and feel of an apron with the classic feel of a pinafore. Sister also incorporates beautiful clean lines and crisp designs.

Caves Collect believes in quality over quantity.  The pair behind this label work on a made to order basis. This is a refreshing tactic in 2016, when most items are mass produced. Caves Collect SS15/16 collection is reminicient  of a balmy, summer holiday in Japan with a school girl twist, leaving you with an urge to pack light and explore.

Lois Hazel is a designer with a sustainable and ethical focus. Hazel hopes to see a positive change in the world. Lois Hazel donates 5% of their profits to ONE GIRL Australia, an organization that believes that all girls on this planet deserve a right to an education. Not only is Lois Hazel inspiring, but the items they create are beautiful. Fun, flirty and free spirited, these pieces make you want to sip a latte at a local cafe and head to the flower market on a warm Saturday afternoon.
