WHAT did you do?
Motorparts Nation is a US based marketing company focusing on the automotive industry, we export auto parts for top quality brands, motor oil and automotive technical training. We primarily focus on the regions of Ghana and West Africa since 2017. Founder Genera Moore launched Motorparts Nation to address a clear problem in the West African market for auto parts. Motorparts Nation has made the purchase of aftermarket auto parts both accessible and affordable for mechanics.
HOW did you do it?
Motorparts Nation is currently transforming the automotive industry in West Africa. We have jump started a global movement to transform lives through hands on training and auto repair technology by reducing accidents and educating a continent. Africa yearns for access to technology to repair cars faster, more efficiently, and as safely as possible. The Ghanaian market is currently in distress as many importers are bringing fake or faulty used parts, which results in deadly accidents on the road and excessive environmental damage. Mechanics face discrimination due to having dropped out of high school and are often overlooked by society. Their careers often reach standstills due to lack of training. There are over 200,000 mechanics in Ghana, 90% are under trained. Under our current program for mechanics we are offering technical training in various modules in the automotive repair field.

WHY are you innovating with this product or service?
We’ve partnered with one of the biggest pan African banks to convert cash transactions into digital transactions using fintech. This business partnership is the first of its kind in the automotive industry. We are reinvesting profits back into technical training and providing small loans for mechanics to purchase shop tools, equipment to grow their business.
WHERE are you from?
I am originally from St. Louis, lived in Dubai for several years, which is the place where I was inspired to start an automotive company to begin with. Currently I am in between living in the United States and Ghana.
