Social responsibility tool for gambling

Software can preventing children getting tempted by gambling online

Gambling as a phenomenon is not bad in terms of socializing; however, in our digital age, it can be difficult to not be tempted by all the different advertisements floating around on the internet. This is especially a problem when it comes to children who are not legally of age to make commitments having difficulties resisting the chance to win and losing money online.

A lot of software companies have offered different solutions to remove ads, but it is also sometimes nice to have the opportunity to be inspired by ads.

Kindred Group (previously Unibet Group) teamed up with Betfilter, who provides a tool that blocks access to online gambling sites, to help prevent people under the age of 18 from being exposed to gambling advertisements.

Over the past year, this collaboration resulted in the development of the new social responsibility tool called AdBlocker, which will be available worldwide. It is well known that children under the age of 18 spend a lot of time using mobile devices, tablets, and computers, and therefore are susceptible to online gambling ads. This new tool can be installed on all devices that the user wants gambling ads to be blocked on.

What was the thought behind this software according to Betfilter and Kindred Group?

“I am happy that this new social responsibility tool is now ready and available to those who need it. We have always been very clear that our products are only to be used by adults over the age of 18, and therefore see this tool as an important addition to our responsible gambling toolbox. This project also follows our commitment to supply a joyful form of entertainment to our customers.”

“At betfilter.com we are proud to collaborate with Kindred Group on this project. Our company has always strived to help people with gambling problems and also ensure safety for children,” says Per Albertsen from Betfilter. “The new AdBlocker, which is initially available for Windows users, blocks gambling ads, thus preventing vulnerable people from being tempted. We believe this 'out of sight, out of mind' method to be truly effective in promoting responsible gambling”.

Kindred will offer a number of AdBlocker licenses for free to customers. Welum was able to get ahold of some of these, so  subscribe to Welum before February 28, and you will get access to this tool for free.
