INSPIRAMAIS, the 1st marketplace

1st marketplace for solutions in design, innovation, and sustainability.

INSPIRAMAIS, the 1st marketplace for solutions in design, innovation, and sustainability.

On January 26-27 took place Inspiramais, in a digital format, Inspiramais is the only design, innovation, and sustainability program for materials for the fashion industry. Inspiration, research, networking, sustainability, diversity, and creativity. These are some of the elements of Inspiramais' special projects such as Inspiramais Connection combines assertiveness and value and presents the materials developed based on the study of inspirations and fashion references that will guide Inspiramais.  The Leather Preview offers individual consultations to the participating tanneries to develop leathers, comprising fashion, sustainability, vegetable tanning, chrome-free, furniture, design, footwear, accessories, and clothing.

In this edition, Inspiramais Textile involves the creation of exclusive space for clothing, apparel and fashion, sustainability, denim, functional and technical items and performance. Another new project is Design 3D, which has support from Sebrae and aims to show micro and small companies an innovative format for presenting their materials.  The +Estampa [print] project encourages Brazilian creativity, with the design of a space for Brazilian printing studios to exhibit and sell their exclusive designs. The objective is to value originality and reduce the copy culture in the clothing sector.

For Creative and Commercial Connection, the focus is on companies that develop materials combining sustainability, clean technologies, and diversity. These businesses have an impact and sustainable, innovative, and disruptive solutions.

In this edition, the theme is Antidote, which is the result of an accurate look at the impacts of social distancing: new perspectives, more interaction with virtual tools, contemplation of nature, comfort, and the search for ways to get out of this situation that paralyzed the world.

“Recluses, we turn our attention to our faith in search of calming feelings. We are looking for an antidote that will calm our fears and project our hopes”, mentioned Walter Rodrigues, coordinator of Assintecal's Design Center. For him, these challenging current events require reinvention. "Combining science, design, art, and technology with principles of nature, transforming it into a source of creative inspiration, we will find incentives to innovate", he remarked.

An extensive survey conducted by the Research Center resulted in a series of inspirational references, in addition to the color palette for the 2022_I season. These are elements that will serve as inspiration for the footwear, accessory, clothing, furniture, and jewelry segments, which seek innovative fashion for their collections. The concepts Naturar and Daily Life tie together the references linked to the theme.

From nature to everyday life

The creation of new materials from biodiversity, with innovative processes, multidisciplinary teams, and cooperation are part of Naturar's meaning. For Walter, the pandemic made people appreciate the details more. “The Instagram-worthy sunset, for example, was part of the feed of those in quarantine who began to see the world through their home window”, recalled the coordinator of Assintecal´s Design center. This insight appears in the series of references, in the form of layers and bars, which can be incorporated into the materials. Bio print, striations, and ribs, on the other hand, originate from a more detailed look at nature.

“Daily life is complementary to Naturar. It touches on the lessons we learned during confinement. School, work, family: we adapted everything at the same time in our homes. The theme brings the idea of preservation, of caring for the family unit and for others. Thus, completely changing the notion of daily life”, explained the designer. The cleaning routine, for example, is seen from the finishes on the surface, which are waterproof and easy to clean. An example of this care is in the fabric made of 65% copper, which offers antiviral protection that will inspire many companies in this direction.

The idea of distancing can be seen in the large, bulky shapes that clothes have taken and on shoe soles which indicate protection. Games, streaming, the digital age denote a feeling of escapism present in a playful universe here called - Fantasist. "There are several elements here that will be a reference for buckles, ornaments, prints, heels, and jewelry", concluded Walter.

Another innovation is about the duration of the exhibit, which will be extended from two days to over one month, with the stands becoming available for viewing and generating opportunities. There will be two days of product launches in the live videos of the exhibiting companies. The talks, in turn, will provide a space for keynote addresses, increasing the access time to the contents. Each week, there will be talks with the main clothing brands.

The new Leather Preview collection was unveiled, with the themes Quantum and Hypervisual. Designer Marnei Carminatti, the curator of the project, explained that reflecting on the creation of new codes, adjusting the paths between fashion, performance, sustainability, and inclusion, has become the main narrative of this century. A mantra that resonates throughout society. “Considering these concepts, we seek to interpret these needs supported by the two inspirational themes”, he observed.

Talking about Quantum theme, the proposal is a poetic look at the finishes, inspired by the beauty, color, brightness, and energy of crystals and precious gems or interpreting the simultaneous coexistence of opposing finishes such as glossy and matte. “We also deal with performance, and explore special items for safety, comfort, and sports, with waterproof leather, soft leather and washable leather”, he highlighted.

The Hipervisual theme connects us with maximalism, a graphic inspiration for surface finishes on bovine leather or exuberant exotic skins. “We observe the importance of ancestry and seek to present leathers that exalt their naturalness, giving chrome-free, plant and plant product articles the spotlight, reaffirming the importance of these leathers to create a product line, especially for brands that seek a closer relationship with sustainable themes”, the designer explained. For Marnei, reinterpreting the present and giving meaning to the future is fundamental for humanity. And for fashion, it is a necessity.

The event was supported by  Associação Brasileira de Empresas de Componentes para Couro, Calçados e Artefatos [Brazilian Association of Leather, Footwear and Component Companies] (Assintecal), Centro das Indústrias de Curtume do Brasil [Brazilian Tannery Industries Center] (CICB), Associação Brasileira das Indústrias do Mobiliário [Brazilian Association of Furniture Industries] (Abimóvel), Agência Brasileira de Promoção de Exportações e Investimentos [Brazilian Export and Investment Promotion Agency] (Apex-Brasil).
