On March 25, Mexican jewelry designer Gabriela Sánchez celebrated 25 years of creative trajectory with an emotional runway in Guadalajara, Mexico, presenting the commemorative 25th Anniversary Collection after her recent participation in Paris, where she showcased a capsule collection at Galerie Bourbon through the independent platform Flying Solo.
A Milestone Rooted in Legacy
The event marked the culmination of more than two decades dedicated to design, cultural identity, and the international projection of Mexican jewelry. The brand presented 60 maximalist jewels that reflect the evolution, spirit, and unity of the house. Many of the pieces were crafted in Mexican silver and preserved over 25 years as part of the firm’s historical archive, including designs from collections such as Agaves Plata, Calacas, Corazones, Rebozos, and pieces made with the stretched‑glass technique.
Gabriela Sánchez emphasized that the celebration honors not only a consolidated trajectory but also the strength of a family legacy carried by mother and daughter, representing the third and fourth generation.
A Global Mexican Brand
The firm has commercial presence in the United States, Japan, Canada, Italy, Spain, Argentina, Guatemala, Colombia, Australia, and France, exporting 18% of its production to international markets.
Throughout its 25 years, the brand has created 60 collections, participated in 185 national and international exhibitions, and built a client base of 35,000 people. In Mexico, its pieces are sold in emblematic spaces such as the Frida Kahlo Museum, Mundo Cuervo, Museo de Arte Popular, Palacio de Bellas Artes, Xcaret, and luxury hotels including the Four Seasons. The company also generates nearly 100 direct and indirect jobs.
The Creative Direction of Luis Enrique Bolívar
Venezuelan designer Luis Enrique Bolívar developed both the wardrobe and the original sound design for the runway. His contribution added symbolic depth and a contemporary narrative aligned with the essence of the collection.
A Runway That Embraced Diversity
The presentation featured renowned figures from the local fashion scene, including Sally Rangel, Lorenza Luquín, Oscar Lupercio, Jorge Lupercio, and Sandro. The casting also included models of different ages, body types, and backgrounds, reinforcing a clear message: diversity is a fundamental value in fashion.
A Celebration Shared with the Community
The event gathered 600 guests, including fashion personalities, brand buyers, artisans, government representatives, influencers, and specialized press. A special point of sale was available during the event for attendees interested in acquiring pieces inspired by the 25th Anniversary. The collection will also soon be available through the brand’s website.
Looking Ahead
Gabriela Sánchez and Creative Director Artemisa Ramírez will continue working to position the brand in international museums and to develop projects that bring jewelry to more people while contributing to the creation of new jobs.
