From November 10–12, São Paulo will host the fifth edition of BFSHOW, Latin America’s largest footwear fair. With over 350 brands and more than 12,000 buyers expected, the event—organized by the Brazilian Footwear Industries Association (Abicalçados) and NürnbergMesse Brasil—will spotlight the country’s creative and industrial power across all segments of footwear and accessories.
A Season of Contrasts
Fall/Winter 2026 trends reveal a compelling duality: timeless elegance meets rebellious edge. According to fashion research platform Fashion Directions, the season will be defined by two dominant styles. On one side, ladylike classics—stilettos, peep toes, and refined sandals—are reinterpreted with modern silhouettes. On the other hand, streetwear-inspired designs bring boldness through metal hardware, buckles, and statement boots.
Boots will be the season’s protagonists, appearing in slouchy, over-the-knee, and stretch versions, with varied shaft heights. Designers are also experimenting with sculptural heels, mixed textures, and impactful details. Toe shapes—elongated pointed, modern square, and high vamps—signal a fresh take on sophistication.
Maximalism Makes a Comeback
Minimalism steps aside as 80s-inspired maximalism returns with vibrant colors, intense shine, and expressive silhouettes. Boho remains present, now softened with cozy textures and warm tones. This shift reflects a broader appetite for fashion that celebrates individuality and emotion.
Luana Lanzini and Luana Savadintzky, co-founders of Fashion Directions, are among the voices shaping this narrative. Their insights, grounded in research and market analysis, help guide Brazil’s manufacturers toward global relevance.
Brazil’s Footwear Industry on the Global Stage
BFSHOW’s international reach continues to grow. Importers from over 20 countries—including Germany, Canada, Israel, Nigeria, and Turkey—have already confirmed attendance. Even markets that don’t yet import Brazilian footwear are taking notice, drawn by the industry’s reputation for quality, sustainability, and competitive pricing.
Leticia Sperb Masselli, Abicalçados’ Manager of Relations and Business, emphasizes the strategic importance of the fair: “We have the largest footwear industry in the Western world, and BFSHOW is our showcase to the globe.”
From trend forecasting to international expansion, Brazil’s footwear industry is powered by collaboration, innovation, and a growing network of professionals—many of them women—who are shaping its future with vision and precision.
