GUADALAJARA, Mexico – Escaparate, widely recognized as Mexico's leading jewelry trend showcase, has opened a retrospective exhibition at the Museo de las Artes de Guadalajara (MURA), bringing together emblematic pieces from its first 11 editions and highlighting the creative evolution of contemporary Mexican jewelry design. The exhibition serves as a prelude to Escaparate's twelfth edition, Historias de Joyería.
The exhibition features a curated selection of iconic works from 41 design firms that have participated in Escaparate since its launch in 2013. Among the featured designers are Gabriela Sánchez, Mackech Jewels, Citlali Joyas, Ileana Rojas, Maria Vera, Oscar Figueroa, Cristina Fernandez and Adeliza García, reflecting the diversity and creative breadth that have defined the platform over more than a decade.
Created within the framework of Expo JOYA, Escaparate has become an important platform for showcasing innovation, craftsmanship and experimental approaches within Mexico's jewelry industry. Over the years, its presentations have explored themes ranging from architecture and Mexican landscapes to world forests, the four elements, the cosmos, fine arts and national history, demonstrating how jewelry can serve as both artistic expression and cultural storytelling.
Rather than focusing on a single collection or season, the MURA exhibition offers visitors an opportunity to trace the evolution of Mexican jewelry design through representative pieces from eleven editions. The works on display reveal different creative approaches, materials and aesthetic languages that have shaped the sector's development and contributed to the growing visibility of Mexican jewelry design.
As Escaparate prepares to launch its twelfth edition, Historias de Joyería, the retrospective underscores the platform's ongoing commitment to supporting national talent and fostering design-driven growth within the industry. More than a look back, the exhibition highlights the creative legacy that continues to influence the future of Mexican jewelry.
