Colombiamoda celebrated 35 years

Focus on the internationalization of the industry

Colombiamoda celebrated 35 years with more than 70,500 attendees, from more than 40 countries, with a focus on the internationalization of the industry.

The Latin American Fashion System connected, inspired, and created new opportunities to chart the fashion industry’s future, thanks to the 35th edition of Colombiamoda – The Fashion Week of Colombia. The fair, which evidenced the resilience, the dynamism of the sector, and creative talent with an author’s stamp, had a record attendance of 70,500 people at its fairgrounds and its ‘City Circuit.’

Colombiamoda proved that it goes beyond being just a fashion fair, confirming that the Fashion System finds a unique opportunity to foster its brands and connect with the world through its capabilities and edge. This commemorative edition of the fair hosted a total of 600 participating brands – 90% national and 10% international – from regions of the country such as Antioquia, Cundinamarca, Santander, Norte de Santander and Valle del Cauca, and strategic countries such as Brazil, Panama, Spain, and India.

Over 12 thousand buyers found Colombia Fashion Week an unmissable opportunity to learn about the differential value of national brands with unique proposals, where sustainability, circularity, innovation, and conscious fashion were the protagonists. Out of those, 10,000 were national, from regions such as Antioquia, Cundinamarca, Valle del Cauca, Norte de Santander, and Santander, and 2,000 international, from countries such as Ecuador, Peru, Mexico, the United States, Costa Rica, Australia, Canada, Holland, Panama, among others.

Medellín lived the spirit of the Fashion System with a ‘City Circuit’ that reflected the evolution and impact of fashion in the region in 24 iconic places; more than 8,500 people registered, thus demonstrating the versatility of the industry and its ability to merge with creativity, culture, infrastructure, and art. Therefore, Colombiamoda transcended its historic headquarters to inspire a whole city, a country, and a continent.

Epicenter of sustainability and new categories that drive the Fashion System

Sustainability was one of the fair’s cross-axes, with consolidated spaces that became relevant over the years. The ‘Circular Fashion Market’, with the Coca-Cola System, allowed 11 brands of entrepreneurs to present their value propositions and social and environmental impact to thousands of attendees. Also, the ‘Sustainability Route with Inter Rapidísimo’, ratified the importance of sustainability as a strategic pillar of the future of the Fashion System, highlighting 20 brands for their sustainable processes and solutions in the industry.

Colombiamoda 2024 also presented new spaces that expand opportunities for the fashion industry, especially in the home category. The first edition of ‘Deco’ allowed 15 brands to share their proposals, products, and interior design solutions in a market that grows annually by 3% in Colombia.

Knowledge weaving the future of the industry

15 thousand people from Colombia and different parts of the world had the opportunity to be inspired and updated – in person and virtually – through the Inexmoda Knowledge Pavilion – Pascual Bravo; a space open to the public that evidenced the opportunities that the industry has through sustainability, technology, connection with the world and creativity as transformative axes of the Fashion System. This space had more than 30 conferences and discussions, in which 60 national and international speakers had the opportunity to share their vision of the opportunities and challenges of the industry to make strategic decisions that will chart the future of its value chain, starting with academia.

Inexmoda reaffirms its commitment to the strengthening and internationalization of brands, firmly believing that differentiated value is the best competitive advantage that the country must boost the industry in the global fashion market through its business transformation projects and fairs such as Colombiamoda – The Colombia Fashion Week – and Colombiatex de las Américas.
