Inclusion and empowerment: more than 6,000 attendees acquire tools and knowledge at the Women Economic Forum Iberoamérica 2020

Mexico City, August 27, 2020. - Women Economic Forum Iberoamérica 2020, had more than 27 hours of continuous transmission, showcased presentations by renowned personalities from the economic, political, social and cultural world, who contributed experiences, knowledge and tools for the inclusion and empowerment of Ibero-American women. From 25 to 27 August, more than 6,000 people participated around the world.
The power of economic change and initiatives focused especially on encouraging the the talent of women was presented by Manuel Alejandro González and Ernesto Sánchez, Secretaries of Economic Development of the governments of Aguascalientes and Jalisco, respectively; Gustavo Puentes, Secretary of Sustainable Development of the government of Querétaro, and Eng. Marco Antonio del Prete, Secretary of Economic Development of the government of San Luis Potosí.
Rosario Marín, former Treasurer of the Government of the United States, urged women to believe in them and affirmed the importance of their role in global economic reintegration. With the support of Compartamos Banco, women shared their experiences of entrepreneurship, which has given them opportunities for growth and the ability to redefine their role in the economy.
The embassies of the United States and Canada in Mexico joined the work of WEF Ibero-America in thanking the initiatives on competitiveness and inclusion of women. The US government through its diplomatic representation announced that it will open a free training platform for women to acquire digital skills in entrepreneurship, the Internet of Things and networking. The Ambassador of Canada in Mexico, Corin Robertson presented that in partnership with WEF Iberoamérica, they will launch a mentoring program for Mexican girls and women have guarantees of development opportunities
As part of the activities to follow, Michelle Ferrari, president of WEF Iberoamérica, pointed out that in December of this year the Women Economic Forum Spain will be held, to continue the full incorporation of women in political, social and economic development.
