On January 13th to 15th took place in Sao Paulo, Brazil, Couromoda, the most important Latin American trade fair for fashion launchings and business development for the footwear and leather goods industry. Couromoda held its 47th edition and introduced the industry's collections for the first semester. It is the big meeting point of footwear manufacturers, retailers, international buyers and professionals to keep abreast with the market trends.
Couromoda officially opened the Brazilian sales calendar and events focused on the sector. The edition was integrated to São Paulo Prêt-à-Porter - International Business Fair for Fashion and Clothing Industry, which celebrates its 10th edition, and together bring together major players from the national and international retail market, with the presence of the largest consumer centers in the world such as the United States and Latin America. Holding the events together gives shopkeepers the opportunity to check out the trends of the season throughout the retail supply chain, extending the possibilities of a 360o result to the professional visitor.
During the three days, more than 2,000 collections of the women's, men's, children's, handbags and accessories segments were displayed, with bets and launches of the brands that, today, represent about 90% of the Brazilian production of footwear and accessories. Over the three days and the following months, the fair further strengthens the sector's relationship with tenants and generates business that accounts for 35% of the annual footwear movement, which is optimistic for the coming year.
“The end of 2019 exceeded expectations with sales over Christmas, closing the year with positive results that warmed the economy and the sector. Now retailers are coming to the fair to check out what's new, do good business to replenish their stocks, and prepare their showcases with their summer collections,” added Jeferson Santos, COUROMODA CEO.
Speaking of innovation and technology, the event presented the store of the future in an unprecedented project designed by Data System and Couromoda: The Retail Tech Store, a junction between retail, technology and store, which showed details of its concept in a space of 66. m², with solutions that are proven to make a difference in operations, as well as improve business results, as they were designed based on the main difficulties encountered in the daily footwear and clothing stores. Some items already found in major retailers can now be adapted to make life easier for small and midsize businesses, such as management technology, consumer experience in digital display self-service, smart mirror in the dressing room that maximizes the shopping experience, reviews and promotions, as well as tools for internal use in team training. The store of the future will be an inspiration for investments and was open for visitation.
One of the most impressive things about the fair was the children's footwear Brazilian Pavilion brands, which have a real proposal for design and innovation in materials like the brands: Kidy and Pimpolho.
